Abstract

The objective of the project is to analyze the body stability under static (standing) and dynamic (gait) conditions when wearing two footwear models of the shoemaker GEOX. Three volunteers will be randomly selected for the study. In the static condition, the volunteer will be asked to stand during 10 seconds on the force plate staring at a white wall approximately at 5 m. This process will also be repeated 12 times for each model. In the dynamic condition, a complete gait cycle will be captured. This process will also be repeated 12 times for each model. In each trial, motion will be captured, and ground reaction forces and plantar pressure measured. From these measurements, we will assess body stability by investigating the following variables: displacement of the COM, displacement of the COP, ground reaction forces, and plantar pressure distribution.
